Rain, Rain, GO AWAY!

We spent the past four days in San Francisco, mostly to visit Charlie's family, but also to get out of town, maybe see a little blue sky and sunshine... but instead, in a cruel twist of fate, the weather here is Seattle was sunny and the weather in SF was rainy. Not just a little rainy, but constant, sideways, down pour.

I'd like to tell you that this didn't bother me and I took it in stride, but it did bother me (a lot) especially since I generally get very obsessed and a little pessimistic about the weather forecast before I go on vacation (I think it gives me a little time to be crabby about the weather before I'm stuck in a hotel with loved ones) but this time I saw the forecast and thought, how much can it really rain? Well, never again! I am going back to my old ways... I think being sad about the weather before your vacation is much better than being sad about the weather during your vacation!

At least now I know and the next time someone tells me not to worry about it that "worrying doesn't help at all" I'll secretly know that it does help me!

Abby visiting with Great Grandmere. Definitely a highlight of the trip.

Abby looking cute and bundled up, ready for a trip outside.

Abby playing in the hotel. It was a big room and that saved us from really going crazy.

Yesterday morning was actually pretty nice, so we went out and enjoyed some of the views from outside our hotel.

High chair or photo shoot?

Pretty much every time Abby is strapped to her high chair and immobile, I get the urge to take her picture. I just think she looks so cute... so even though I'm often a little disappointed that she has food on her face and I may be risking future self image problems by always photographing her partially nude and eating, I can't stop myself. Here are some of my recent favorites.

After a long while of me incessantly asking, "How big is Abby?", we FINALLY coordinated, she raised her arms and I took the picture...and what a reward. : )

All bundled up...

This is kind of fun. Here's Abby today, all bundled up for the super cold weather:

And here she is during the heat wave this summer:

It's amazing how big she's gotten! She looks like a different baby... The time goes by so fast!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

We put up the tree this weekend. It's not a real tree. I got a fake tree because I didn't want Charlie to have to do a lot of extra work (and by work I mean fun stuff like going to pick out the tree, cutting it down, drinking cocoa while we decorate it) but it turns out he is the one complaining every year that we don't have a real tree. Next year we might have to step it up for the real thing, but this year, we put up the old fake one and we had an excited little helper to add to the fun! I think we may need to go buy some baby gates because Abby LOVES the tree and I'm getting pretty tired of our little game of keep away and it's only been 2 days!

Abby thinks Dotty might look nice on the tree... so selfless to suggest her favorite thing as an ornament.

Abby tries to get Sammy to help decorate.

Helping Mommy select ornaments.

Sammy is pretty tired after all that holiday cheer.

We've had some beautiful weather too! I love sunny winter days!

Let's see those chompers...

No, you can't see them...

I'll smile sweetly, but I won't show you the teeth...

Okay, fine, Mom... I'll show the teeth.
(I think this may be a picture of Abby learning to roll her eyes)

Abby and her Family

Abby actually crawled around with this on her head for a little while. You'd think she would hate it, but she seemed to find it highly amusing. Silly little girl!

Abby is one lucky baby girl. Pretty much every day she sees one of her loved ones... and that's on top of all the love she gets from me, Charlie and Sammy! In the last 2 days she has seen Bubbe, Goose, Meme, Uncle Pete, Rachel, Pappy, Auntie Kelsey, Uncle Brian and cousin Eli. She pretty much gets to see every one of her relatives each week. I don't think you could ask for a better family for my precious little girl! Thanks family!

Abby meet Santa...

Abby has finally met someone who does not make her smile... oh well, there's always next year.
