Hats

Abby loves hats. Not hats to keep your head warm or dry or shaded, in fact, she will NOT wear one of those hats. Those hats are just no fun I guess.

She needed both her "new hat" and sunglasses on this particular day. She calls this hard hat her new hat because when we bought it we went over to a friends house and I said "do you want to bring your new hat?" and now she thinks it's called the new hat.

Red Carpet Ready

I got a pedicure for the first time in ages and ever since Abby has been very insistent that she also wants pink toes, so last night I bought her some nail polish. Here we are just a couple of girls getting glam'ed up while we watch the Oscars.

Caillou on repeat...

Abby loves, loves, loves Caillou, so in an act of total selflessness and (what was I thinking??) craziness I checked out a Caillou CD from the library for Abby. She wants to listen to it on repeat and loud. This is not the normal Caillou voice either, it's an even more annoying voice. It sounds like the regular Caillou voice, but if you imagine that the director kept yelling CUT! and asking the actor to sound even more whiny and annoying and the actor finally got so fed up with it that he started making his voice so over the top whiny that no one could stand it. As you can see it makes Abby insanely happy, so basically it drives us both crazy just in opposite ways.

My Little Rock Star

Abby loves drums, guitars, singing and being the center of attention... I think she might be a rock star someday, hopefully a wholesome, trouble free, roll model kind. Anyway, she's also really into singing the ABCs, of course, she won't usually perform when the camera comes out, but she did most of them on this little video and the concentration on her face while she sings is priceless.

Let's Play!

Abby loves to say, "Let's play Mommy!" and then run around the house over and over until she says stop. These pictures don't really capture how much fun she has running around the house, but they are close.

Cookies!

We had Eli and Kelsey over for a cookie making extravaganza. While Abby napped I made sugar cookies and chocolate chip cookies. I don't really know why I decided to make both kinds and I really don't know why I had to eat so many cookies and so much dough, but I did. We'll see what the future holds, but for now I can say that I really don't think a cookie sounds good, and I don't think I've ever thought that before, maybe I'm cured of my cookie addiction?! One day at a time.

Abby in her apron and ready to cook!

Look at Abby's face, she cannot believe that I gave her a knife!

Abby is so excited to use sprinkles, she's been dreaming of this since I took the sprinkles away from her when she kept throwing them out of our cart at the store yesterday.

Ta Da! The perfect ratio of cookie, frosting and sprinkles!

Will it taste as good as it looks?

Eli likes it...

And just look at these two, aren't they cute?

Lunch with Pappy

Abby was so excited to have Pappy over for lunch. She laughed, she screamed, she cooked and she ate, but mostly she followed Pappy around and laughed.

Little Girl, Big Boots

Abby and I love boots. She doesn't care if they are my boots or hers, she just wants to put on some boots. And who could blame her? I really wish I looked this cute in boots and skinny jeans.

And then we had to put the camera away because Abby really, really wants to use the camera and I really, really don't trust her to use it.

Babysitters Club

We're lucky to have a few friends that all had kids right at the same time as we did and so a year and a half ago or so we started a little babysitters club. I really wish I had been better about taking pictures because it's amazing how big and old the kids are getting. I love watching the kids play together, it makes it pretty hard to decide which nights I like better, the nights Charlie and I get a date or the nights we get to hang out with the kids.
