Ready or not...

Abby is ready for a big girl bed, she has been requesting/demanding pillows, blankets tucked around her, pretty much anything to make her crib just like Mom and Dad's cozy bed... so that combined with her crib escape in Hawaii has me sort of scrambling to get her room ready for a transition to a big girl bed. I'm not really sure I'm ready, but part of me thinks she's so excited about it that it might make some things easier, we'll see. I took this picture of her today while we were cuddling before nap time. She looks like such an angel that it makes me sort of excited to see her cuddled up in her very own big girl bed. I guess that focusing on that makes me feel a little better about losing the certain safety of her crib. Change is always hard at first, right? : )

Easter Weekend

Easter was a big hit. I guess that's not a surprise when you consider that Abby loves chocolate and bunnies, but still, it's fun because the last 2 Easters she had no idea what was going on and now she finally gets to have fun too! Here are the action shots of her really loving Easter.

Hunting for more. My Mom's dear friend B-Z put on quite the hunt, filled with eggs, candy, toys and more, but Abby is a purest and would only pick up eggs.


Still very unsure about the Easter bunny, even though that package is filled with Abby's new favorite books (4 or 5 new Caillou books that she cannot get enough of) she still says periodically "Abby no like Easter bunny". Oh well, next year, right?

Babysitter Club Easter Party

Happy Passover!

We celebrated Passover last night. I wish you could have been there, hearing Abby yell, "Happy Passover! It's sunny!" as she danced around my in-laws' deck was pretty priceless if you ask me.

Abby loves her Bubbe and Goose! Thanks so much for a wonderful meal and celebration!

Happy birthday Mom! I love you and am so thankful to have a wonderful woman like you as my mom and friend! You are an inspiration in so many ways and I hope you know how dear you are to me and Abby and even Charlie and Sammy too. You are the best!

Hawaii!

We just got back from Hawaii. It was wonderful and I can't wait to go back... and I really hope that I win the lottery so that next time I go I can 1. go longer and 2. bring someone along to babysit a couple hours each day. Wouldn't that be the life?!

Abby was a great traveler and provided more than a few highlights of the trip - like learning to put her head under water, calling the pool "ARRR Matey" (it was shaped like a pirate ship) and many other cute things and also a few low lights - like learning to climb out of her crib and throwing up all over me during takeoff, but hey, we were on our way to Hawaii, you can't let a little thing like your whole left side soaked in throw up ruin your first day of vacation, right? Oh being a mother does wonderful things for your ability to shake things off. Anyway we had an amazing time and to make it even better there was sun in Seattle upon our return!! Yay!

Abby and I had many battles with sunscreen, here she is on the first day ready to go. Good thing we have a few months before we have to start thinking about sunscreen again - I think we both need a break from sunscreen wrestling matches.
