My Super Sweet 16 - Month Old

Abby turned 16 months a few weeks ago and I just have to say, she is more fun than ever. She laughs a lot (and snorts while she laughs - possibly the cutest and funniest thing ever) and talks, sings and plays nonstop. We are very lucky to have such a delightful girl to fill our days. Here are some highlight from the last few days.

After a lot of hard work she finally got the sunglasses on by herself!


She is obsessed with our tomato plant... and she loves to water it.

We fulfilled my dream of Abby in Uggs. I didn't think she would care, but she LOVED them. She looks so old and laughed and laughed when we put them on her... oh how I wish I'd had the video camera running. She was so cute walking around and giggling.

Abby is pretty obsessed with the bouncy chair. I don't know if it's because she hasn't seen it in almost a year or if it's because she just doesn't want to share it with Lazo, but it's pretty funny to see her lounging in it.

Abby meets a baby...

We were lucky enough to host Roberta and Lazo for a night and Abby had a chance to interact with her first baby! There were some things she liked about having a baby around and some things that she definitely didn't like (I wish you could have seen her face when she was cranky and I had the audacity to hold Lazo instead of her!!). Anyway, Abby had fun with baby Lazo and I'm sure when the time comes she will make a very loving and bossy big sister (is there any other kind?).

One thing is for sure, Abby LOVED seeing all of her old "toys" - here she is in the baby bathtub.




Roberta and Lazo stayed with us on her 4th wedding anniversary and Matt wins the prize of most conscientious husband ever since he sent Roberta a beautiful bouquet and Abby and I one too for hosting his family! What a guy!

Heat Wave

We are loving this summer weather so much that we got a pool and spent almost the whole day outside. Abby wore herself out...

Summer is here!

And not a moment too soon. I really needed some warm sunshine!


I bought Abby a balloon and she loves, but she was feeling a little sick and tired and as you can see - she DIDN'T WANT ANYONE TO TOUCH HER BALLOON! Smart girl Abby - she's heard the story one too many times already about the time I let the neighbor girl hold my fancy balloon and she let it float away.


Abby and I went to the beach dog park with Kelsey, Eli and my Mom yesterday. As I was scrambling to get our beach bag ready, Abby grabbed this hat and headed for the door. Too bad she won't wear a sun hat when I try to put it on her!


I gave Abby a graham cracker this morning to keep her out of Sammy's way while Sammy was eating and this is where I found her. It looks like I'm not the only one who has been longing to sit out in the sun.


I also made a really yummy, easy, and summery dessert using this Key Lime White Chocolate Fudge that I bought at the farmer's market in Lake Forest Park. Just make a graham cracker crust, let it cool, spread a thin layer of this stuff, add a little vanilla ice cream, refreeze and YUMMY! So good.

Happy 4th of July!

I love having a girl...

I'm sure it might change, but lately Abby is into everything girlie and I love it. She loves to sit on my lap and play with my makeup when I get ready in the morning, she loves to put on her Bubbe's jewelry, she loves to push her baby stroller around and try on hats and I know that I'm biased, but there can't be many more baby girls that can top her curly head of hair and bright baby girl smile... she's a constant delight (unless she's tired and cranky and I'm in sight) and I love her so much!
